The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown. These words ring true across the ages, echoing through the halls of history like a whisper from the void itself.
What Lies Beneath
Before the first stars were kindled, the void was inhabited by beings of incomprehensible power. They did not create — they simply were. Their designs remain unknowable to mortal minds, their motivations beyond the reach of reason or language.
Those who seek to understand them invite only madness and ruin. And yet we are drawn to the threshold, compelled by something deeper than curiosity — a pull from beyond the membrane of the known world.
And still we press on. Because the alternative — to live in ignorance of the vast darkness that surrounds us — is perhaps the greater madness.
